About the Pop culture page

Welcome to the Pop Culture page. There is much to say about the topic, nevertheless this page provides just a few links on the "engaged" pop-music phenomenon that started with the Great Depression, and was so much intertwined with the movements for peace and social justice in the US. Songs and social activism went together with such remarcable artists like Woodie Guthrie, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Harry Belafonte, Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen.
